The function of a visa is as a permit to enter a country. In the Bali Visa Regulations, there are updated visa requirements. These visa regulations usually depend on 3 main criteria. These include nationality, length of stay, and purpose of travel.
Visa requirements are based on travel destination criteria, namely tourism, government visits, business meetings, transit, and pre-investment. You not able to work in Indonesia with this type of visa. This is because this visa is a visit visa, not a work visa or limited stay permit. Then, what about the criteria for length of stay and nationality? The following is the explanation.
a. Length of Stay Criteria
There are 3 types of length of stay criteria. Starting from length of stay of more than 60 days, length of stay of 30 to 60 days, and length of stay of less than 30 days. Each type has its differences. The following is the explanation.
1. Length of Stay More than 60 days
All persons staying longer than 60 days will require a B211A Visa. You apply for this when you are outside Indonesia before arrival. The visa will initially be valid for 60 days and able be extended twice, each for 60 days. After a maximum of 180 days, you are required to go away from the country.
You need this visa only if your country is not on the list of visa-free countries. Additionally, you intend to visit longer than 60 days. This type of visa is intended for Indonesia and not just for certain islands or regions. Therefore, all types of visas (Visa on Arrival or B211A) are valid for Indonesia and you can go on adventures in Indonesia freely.
To apply for a B211A visa, there are 3 ways, namely through an online application, the immigration website, and you can visit the Indonesian Embassy or Consulate in your country.
For those of you who want to use the online application, you can use the Bali.com application. You can register for the application first online and follow several stages. Meanwhile, for those of you who want to go through the immigration website, you also need to follow several steps.
Among other things, you need a letter from the guarantor (which can be called a sponsor letter) stating that the guarantor is responsible for your stay in Indonesia. Apart from that, you are also required to provide financial proof to fund your stay in Indonesia, a minimum of USD 2000 or IDR 1,500,000 to IDR 2,000,000.
Travel purposes covered by B211A include tourism, business, social, sports, and transit activities. Even though the purpose of the trip covered by B211A is business, this visa is not a work permit and does not give you the right to do paid work in Indonesia. It also does not give you the right to carry out any commercial activities or events. These things are handled very strictly.
The purpose of this business is for you to be able to meet people to discuss business opportunities. Apart from that, also do networking, look for products, explore investment opportunities, and work remotely as long as you do not make money in Indonesia and with clients in Indonesia.
2. Length of Stay 30 to 60 Days
For those of you who want to stay for 30 days in Indonesia, you can use the B213 visa. This is because this visa is valid for 30 days. Then, you can renew, only once for the next 30 days. The day of the arrival and the day of the departure are each counted as complete days.
B213 visitor visa, also familiar with Visa on Arrival is the visa that most tourists require when coming to Indonesia or Bali. You can get this type of visa online to avoid queuing at the counter. So, it can save your time and feel more comfortable.
You able to apply for e-VOA (Electronic Visa on Arrival) around 14 days before your trip. However, try to make this e-VOA request a minimum of 48 hours before your departure. No less important, you must use the official immigration site to buy your visa online and be careful to find out because many fake sites are floating around.
If you do not buy an e-VOA before arriving in Indonesia, you can still buy it at the VOA counter in the airport arrivals hall. Then, what is needed to get a Visitor Visa or Visa on Arrival is a passport that is still valid for a minimum of 6 months on the date of arrival (no exceptions). They may also want your return ticket, so you need to prepare that too. Then, also prepare cash or credit cards.
Then, the documents needed for your e-VOA request are a complete passport biodata page with a minimum validity period of 6 months from the date of your arrival to Indonesia. Then, a passport-size photo, email address, credit card (valid Mastercard, Visa, or JCB), and information about where you live in Bali or Indonesia.
This type of visa is single entry only. So, if you plan to leave Indonesia and want to come back, you are required to apply for a new visit. Then, if you overstay, you are required to pay a mulct of IDR 1,000,000 or $64.40 (USD) per day. However, if you stay too long, you may be detained, deported, or even prohibited from returning to Indonesia for a certain time.
3. Length of Stay Less than 30 Days
ASEAN Citizens do not need a Visa. Meanwhile, citizens from more than 90 countries require a visit visa. Then, citizens of the remaining countries must apply for a B211A visa before arrival.
b. Nationality Criteria
As explained above, citizens from the ASEAN region can be visa-free, especially for Bali and Indonesia. Who are the countries? Starting from Brunei, Philippines, Cambodia, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Laos, Vietnam and Myanmar.
This visa exemption is intended for tourism purposes with a maximum of 30 days. You cannot extend this visa exemption. Therefore, you are required to leave Indonesia within 30 days. Then, use a valid passport.
That is the explanation of visas with 3 criteria. You already know the Bali Visa Regulations. So, which famous tourist spots do you want to explore immediately?
